We headed out early Tuesday, July 8th.  After a minor delay in Fort Collins to repair sunglasses, we finally encounter open road.  This is Highway 287, between Fort Collins and Laramie.
Much of western Wyoming is high desert, but even sagebrush ain't bad when the sky is that blue.
But as these flags prove, there is a reason the signs say: "Welcome to Wyndoming".
By the time we made it this rest stop between Muddy Gap and Lander, we had fought high winds for hours.   But as the shadows were getting longer, it was just a quick breather and back on the road.  By sundown, Lander was a welcome sight.
Day 2: While checking the bikes over, I realized that I should have installed the rivets that came with Debi's Screaming Eagle Mufflers.  I guess we were lucky they didn't fall off.  Thanks to the friendly folks at a tire store and the local hardware store I managed to get a hole drilled and borrow a rivet gun.  The bike was ready to go before Debi!!
A few miles west of Lander, the scenery began to improve.  And the early morning calm was a huge improvement over the winds of day 1.
